- Group Size: Keep at least 6 tiger barbs together as they are a schooling fish.
- Tank Size: A 20-gallon aquarium (75 liters) is the minimum size for six tiger barbs.
- Water Parameters: Tiger barbs prefer water between 70 and 78°F (21-26°C). They feel best in slightly soft acidic water with a water hardness of up to 10 dGH and pH of 6-7.
- Substrate: A fine gravel or sandy substrate is ideal for tiger barbs.
- Heater: Install a tank heater to keep the temperature at a constant and comfortable level for your fish.
- Filter: Install a filter to ensure you have enough oxygen as well as clean water for your fish.
- Hiding Places: Provide hiding places for your fish. Driftwood and plants make excellent hiding places.
- Diet: Feed your tiger barbs a mixed diet.
- Water Change: Add fresh water to the tank once a month.
- pH Levels: Monitor the pH levels.
- Breeding: Breed tiger barbs in a separate tank.
