Quick Overview The GloFish® Danio (Danio rerio) is a spectacular, fluorescent variation of the classic Zebra Danio. Utilizing a safe, inherited genetic modification, these robust fish come in intensely bright neon colors that glow beautifully under blue LED lighting. Because the base species is the legendary Zebra Danio, they are arguably one of the hardiest and most forgiving fish in the entire aquarium hobby. They are constantly in motion, zipping across the top levels of the tank, making them a fantastic and entertaining choice for beginners and family aquariums alike.

Bacolod Hobbyist Tip: Because GloFish® Danios are such energetic top-water swimmers, they are notorious jumpers! If you are keeping them, a tight-fitting aquarium lid is completely necessary to keep them safe inside the tank. Furthermore, to get that true “glowing” effect, standard white aquarium lights won’t quite do the trick.
