Bacolod Tap Water Conditioning & Tannin Enhancement: The Ember Tetra naturally hails from soft, slightly acidic blackwater environments. While tank-raised specimens are incredibly hardy and adapt well to Bacolod’s typical neutral tap water parameters, unlocking their deepest, most saturated neon-orange coloration requires a bit of conditioning. We highly recommend aging your tank water with local Talisay (Indian Almond) leaves or natural driftwood. The beneficial humic acids and gentle golden tannin tint they release will soothe their skin, safely mirror their wild parameters, and make their fiery bodies pop magnificently against the shaded water.
Aquascaping with High-Contrast Greenery: To appreciate the visual brilliance of the Ember Tetra, house them in a heavily planted layout with a dark background or substrate. Their intense orange coats create a breathtaking, jaw-dropping contrast when swimming over a manicured green carpet of Monte Carlo or Dwarf Hairgrass.
