Quick Overview The Albino Bronze Corydoras (Corydoras aeneus) is a brilliant, selectively bred color morph of the classic Bronze Corydoras. Stripped of their dark pigments, these unique fish boast an iridescent peach-pink coloration that glows beautifully against dark gravel or green plants, coupled with the signature bright red eyes of true albinism. Like all Corydoras, they are highly social bottom-dwellers that spend their days energetically sniffing through the substrate with their whisker-like barbels, acting as an excellent cleanup crew by consuming leftover fish food before it spoils.
Tank Requirements & Local Care Tips
-
Care Level: Beginner (One of the hardiest, most forgiving aquarium fish available)
-
Minimum Tank Size: 20 Gallons (Must be kept in schools of 6 or more to prevent stress and encourage playful schooling behavior)
-
Water Temperature: 22°C to 27°C (Thrives easily in our standard tropical climate)
-
Temperament: Extremely Peaceful (Perfect for community tanks with Tetras, Guppies, Rasboras, and peaceful Dwarf Cichlids)
-
Bacolod Hobbyist Tip: Because these fish are albinos, their pinkish eyes are much more sensitive to harsh, bright lights than normal fish. To make them feel completely safe and encourage them to forage during the day, provide plenty of shaded areas using driftwood caves, smooth rocks, or broad-leafed plants like Anubias. Furthermore, ensure your substrate consists of soft, fine sand; rough gravel will wear down their delicate barbels, leading to painful infections.
