Quick Overview of Iron and Potassium Liquid Fertilizer
Iron and Potassium are two of the most rapidly consumed nutrients in heavily planted aquariums, especially setups featuring vibrant red stem plants and high-intensity lighting. Our Iron & Potassium Liquid Fertilizer delivers a targeted double-action boost designed to solve two of the most common aquascaping issues simultaneously: dull color expression and leaf degradation. The chelated iron acts directly on plant enzymes to drive chlorophyll production and trigger rich crimson, magenta, and fiery orange tones. Meanwhile, the high-purity potassium strengthens internal cell walls, improves turgor pressure, and cures unsightly pinholes and premature leaf decay in older growth.
Key Active Ingredients & Plant Benefits
-
Ferrous Chelated Iron (Fe): Essential for pigment development; transforms pale or dull green stems into vibrant reds, pinks, and purples while preventing yellowing (chlorosis) in young shoots.
-
Soluble Potassium (K): A vital macro element that aids protein synthesis, optimizes water regulation within plant tissue, and prevents necrosis (small dead spots and pinholes) on older leaves.
Dosing Instructions & Local Usage Guide for Bacolod Aquarists
Bacolod Tap Water Synergy & Dosing Schedules: Bacolod’s municipal tap water provides a stable mineral foundation, but it is naturally deficient in bio-available iron and potassium. This targeted booster ensures your plants receive the extra edge needed for competition-grade color and health.
-
Low-Tech / Low-Light Tanks (No CO2): Dose 1 pump (approx. 2 mL) per 10 gallons (38 Liters) of aquarium water 1 time a week.
-
High-Tech / High-Light Tanks (With CO2 & Red Stems): Dose 1 pump (approx. 2 mL) per 10 gallons (38 Liters) of aquarium water 2 to 3 times a week depending on plant density and lighting strength.
Combine with weekly 30% to 50% water changes using conditioned tap water to maintain optimal water column parameters.
Aquascaping & Epiphyte Care: This booster is ideal for demanding red species (Ludwigia, Rotala, Alternanthera) as well as green carpeting plants like Monte Carlo. It also supports robust root and rhizome development in epiphytes attached to hardscape, such as Anubias, Java Ferns, and Bucephalandra. Always remember to keep the creeping rhizomes of these epiphytes completely exposed above the soil to keep them from rotting!
Shrimp & Livestock Safety: Formulated with high-stability chelates, this product is 100% safe for all delicate aquarium inhabitants, including Neocaridina/Caridina dwarf shrimp, Horned Nerite Snails, Hillstream Loaches, and nano fish when used as directed. Store in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight.
