Quick Overview Hailing from the fast-flowing river basins of Africa, the Congo Tetra (Phenacogrammus interruptus) is the definition of eye candy for the freshwater hobby. Unlike most small tetras, the Congo Tetra reaches a substantial and robust size of about 3 to 3.5 inches. They feature large, reflective scales that shift beautifully through shades of neon blue, fiery orange, gold, and red depending on how the light hits them.
