Tank Requirements & Local Care Tips

  • Care Level: Beginner

  • Minimum Tank Size: 15 to 20 Gallons (Best kept in schools of 6 or more)

  • Water Temperature: 23°C to 28°C

  • Temperament: Peaceful (Ideal for community tanks with other tetras, rasboras, and bottom dwellers like Corydoras)

  • Bacolod Hobbyist Tip: Lemon Tetras will display their deepest, most vibrant yellow coloration when kept in a planted aquarium with a dark substrate and slightly soft water. Because Bacolod’s natural climate keeps indoor aquariums in their ideal tropical temperature range, they are very easy to keep here. You can easily mimic their natural Amazonian habitat by adding dried Talisay (Indian Almond) leaves to your water. Stop by our shop for high-quality botanicals, dark aquasoil, and locally acclimated Lemon Tetras!
